At Bellaire High School, we know that success happens when families, students, and teachers work together. That’s why we’re proud to offer several easy-to-use tools that help you stay informed, engaged, and connected to your student’s education — every day.

Below you’ll find the key apps that help you track progress, receive updates, and support your student’s learning journey.

PowerSchool

PowerSchool: HISD Connect - Grades, Attendance and More

The district's Student Information System (SIS), HISD Connect by PowerSchool, includes student contact, enrollment, and demographic information, as well as grades and online resources.

Parents are given a unique code, or access ID, for each of their students and are able to use those codes to set up an account to access their students' profiles through the parent portal. Parents who haven't received their student's access ID should contact their counselor .

Period and Daily Attendance
Class Schedules
Progress Reports
Report Cards*

Please note, parents will need to register each child separately. If you have difficulty registering, be sure that the information you are entering is the exact same data that is on file with your school.

ParentSquare

ParentSquare is a communication platform designed to keep parents and guardians informed about what is happening in your school. ParentSquare will encourage greater engagement and connection with HISD. It provides a safe way for district staff, school administrators, teachers, staff, and parents to send and receive school and class information.

ParentSquare provides: 

Smart Alerts: Get district and school-wide announcements at your fingertips!
Two-Way Communication: Send and receive real-time messages directly with teachers and administrators.
Translation: Send and receive messages and communications in your preferred language

Creating a ParentSquare account gives you full access to important two-way communication with your child’s school. All families will receive messages through text and email. Only those users who download the ParentSquare App will be able to send communication to their campus or teachers. With the App you can:

Send messages directly to teachers and school staff
Receive district-wide announcements and weather-related updates
Access important school information
Customize how and when you get notifications

If you cannot create an account in ParentSquare, it is likely because your phone number or email is not correct in the student information system (Power School). To fix this, please update your phone and email at your child’s school. The email or phone number you use to Register in ParentSquare must be the same email in the student information system in the District.

If you are unable to access your account but have already previously registered, please reset your password from the app or the website.

Click the “?” in the upper right hand corner of the ParentSquare desktop version or the "Help" tab on the app (tap the triple bar icon at the top left) and find answers to most of your questions.

Schoolinks

We are excited to share that our students, families, and counselors have access to SchooLinks, a modern college and career platform, to help with this process. SchooLinks offers features that allow students to explore, plan, and realize their postsecondary goals and provides ways for families to support this process. To get started in SchooLinks, use this document to learn how to create a guardian account. Once you have created a SchooLinks account, you can:

• Learn more about your student’s interests and what careers might be right for them;

• See the goals your student has set for after high school, including which colleges or careers they have favorited;

• Review your student’s course plans and how that fits with their college and career goals;

• See upcoming events related to college and career readiness at your school, as well as important reminders and to-dos for your student to complete;

• Explore and search for different colleges and careers so you can help your student plan and make decisions;

• Compare costs of different colleges, including financial aid options, and search for scholarships;

• Easily ask your student’s counselor questions through the platform;

• And connect your employer to your student’s school through SchooLinks if they are interested in supporting work-based learning opportunities or other partnerships. Click here to learn more.

Canvas

Canvas Parent Observer Accounts

You can now view student content as an Observer in Canvas. Canvas is a web-based learning management system (LMS) that teachers use in the classroom, to manage and deliver course content to students. Observers can link their Canvas account to their students’ account, so they can see course content, assignment due dates, and announcements. Observers can view the course content but cannot participate in the course. To gain access as an Observer, a parent or guardian must:

Obtain a student pairing code;
Create an account in Canvas; and
Use the student pairing code to gain Observer access to published student courses.
